Our Vision
“It was all I lived for, to play baseball.”
Mickey Mantle
There is just something magical about the game of baseball, especially when you can enjoy it with family and friends. It is why we all feel that sense of attachment when we watch the movie like “The Sandlot.” The game that binds a child to a parent, with a game of catch in the backyard, to the catching the last innings of the game, a hour past your bedtime…on a school night, or the times you get to watch someone bigger then you do things playing the game that you can only dream of. That is the magical poetry of the game of baseball.
I fell in love with the game of baseball, as a child, right here in the City of West Bend, watching and dreaming about playing on that big field at Regner Park, with its ivy covered fences, and packed grandstands with the big “West Bend” on top of the grandstand. I wanted to be one of those guys out there. And when I got my chance, it was a dream come true.
Since I got that chance, and it lived up to the hype, part of me wanted to make sure that for all the kids that had the same dream of playing on Carl M. Kuss Field at Regner Park were able to meet that dream as well.
I am involved in the West Bend Baseball Association because of the shared vision of promoting this great game and giving back to the community. From awarding scholarships, to supporting youth, high school, and adult programs, to honoring the game’s past greats, to making sure that Carl M. Kuss Field remains the crown jewel it has always been.
Since the WBBA was been around the organization has raised and distributed more then $2.6 Million back into the game and community. From dugouts, to yearly scholarships, to monument park, and a state of the art scoreboard, the WBBA has tried to do its part in giving back to the game that has given all of us so much.
The WBBA is positioned for the long term to ensure that the game of baseball remains strong in the West Bend area, and we are committed to ensure that our fields and facilities remain first class and the crown jewels of what you remembered.
From Little League Baseball, to Club Baseball, to High School Baseball, to adult amateur baseball, the West Bend Baseball Association is committed to giving everyone, all races, genders, or disabilities the same chances to chase their baseball dreams and fall in love with the game of baseball.
